Upcoming Lunch & Learn Webinars

May 1, 1:30 PM: Where the Science of Learning Meets the Science of Reading

While the science of reading tells us what is essential for building a reader, the science of learning tells us the conditions that are necessary for learning to thrive and to last.

Participants will engage in learning about the evidence base for the science of learning and connecting those principles to the components of the Reading Rope. Grounded in professional readings and discussions as well as lesson and video analysis, join experts from Collaborative Classroom to learn more about how combining the science of learning with the science of reading has the potential to meet the needs of the whole child and support the development of independent learners.

May 8, 1:30 PM: Right to Read Act Round-up

It’s been almost a year since the now Right to Read Act (2023 Wisconsin Act 20) was first introduced by the legislature, overhauling how early literacy is taught in public, charter and choice schools.

Just before summer vacation, join WCRIS for an overview of what we know so far about Act 20 regulations for choice schools, many of which begin this upcoming school year.
