State Budget Update & EANS Briefing

In response to school principals’ requests, WCRIS will be expanding the agenda for its Wednesday, March 10 Administrators Meeting to address both the state budget/legislative session and the roll-out of the EANS application.

This meeting will replace WCRIS’s annual in-person Leadership Conference. We hope to return to an in-person event in March 2023 in Madison, so you can visit the Capitol and meet your legislators at the start of the 2023-25 legislative session. Plans for 2022 will be made later this year, once the trajectory of vaccinations and the virus are better known.

On March 10, we’ll begin our Administrators Meeting with a look at the state’s proposed budget, the newly started state legislative session, and the DPI Superintendent race and what it all means for our schools.

Then, we’ll discuss the EANS funds application and roll-out by the DPI. WCRIS staff, including the private school ombudsman, will discuss the 12 allowable uses of the funds, public control of funds, reimbursement issues, and more.

Many schools are still weighing their options between participating in the Paycheck Protection Program or EANS. This meeting should provide information that will help you make the best decision for your school.
