What We Know

The Wisconsin Supreme Court will hear oral arguments Tuesday on the WCRIS challenge to the Dane County schools lock-down order.

The court has frozen the Dane County order. It also granted an injunction on a similar order by the City of Racine, which WCRIS is also challenging.

The court’s decision in these cases, which are not expected for months, will have ramifications state-wide.

While a decision is awaited, Principals should be prepared for comments about schools offering in-person instruction. Critics of in-person learning include the state teachers union, and the Freedom From Religion Foundation. Both have weighed in variously, with letters to the Governor and filings with the Court.
