April 17-21 is Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin. Be prepared for statewide tornado drills at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 20.

Use next week to practice your preparedness plan at your school and educate students about severe weather in Wisconsin. Recommend that families do the same during the evening drill.

Thirteen tornadoes have already been recorded in Wisconsin this spring, according to Wisconsin Emergency Management.

More information about tornado drill requirements is on page 65 of the WCRIS Legal Handbook.
