Digital Threat Assesment Training through the DOJ will be held on July 22 – 26. In this training, you will learn the role that social media and online activities play in school safety.

PREPaRE School Safety Workshops

The DOJ is sponsoring two PREPaRE Workshops, which focuses on school crisis prevention and preparedness.

The first workshop is at UW-River Falls on June 25. Registration is $119 a person.

The second workshop is a two-day event at UW-River Falls on June 26 to the 27. Registration is $238 a person.

Required School Submissions Update

Schools are reminded that they are required to submit blueprints or maps, safety assessments, safety plans, school safety training, and a record of completed violence drills to the Office of School Safety once a year. This is required for each WCRIS school, regardless of whether or not you received a school safety grant. All required materials can be submitted here.

Radios are a simple and affordable way to prevent or mitigate school safety incidents, according to the DOJ.

New Phone Lines

The DOJ Grant Specialists now have direct phones lines at the Office of School Safety. You can use this line to get your school safety grant questions answered. Read the DOJ’s Office of School Safety eNewsletter for more information.

Legislative Audit Bureau Survey

The Legislative Audit Bureau is currently auditing the school safety grant programs and is working with WCRIS to support this process. During the summer, the Legislative Audit Bureau will mail a survey out to all private schools. Please provide input.
