A new tool that makes public school data transparent is available, and it might be worth perusing if you want to know the per-pupil costs and performance of your area’s public school districts.
This could be very powerful information to share with your boosters, local thought leaders and the legislators who represent your school. Think now about inviting lawmakers for a tour before the school year ends. They love to be asked to teach a civics class or join the students for lunch. The School Data Dashboard can be accessed at KnowMySchoolWI.com. This dashboard was developed by our friends at The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL). It incorporates school district data from the Department of Public Instruction and creates an interactive dashboard about the district’s student proficiency, school finance, enrollment and more.
