Every parent’s greatest fear is the thought of a child gone missing. Child safety experts say, while highly unlikely, if the unthinkable happens, every minute counts. That’s why the Green Bay Packers, Alliant Energy, the Wisconsin Department of Justice and the Department of Public Instruction have teamed up to provide families with free National Child Identification Kits.

Thes kits allow parents to collect fingerprints and other information that can help law enforcement access your child’s information if they go missing. It saves law enforcement time and allows them to start looking for a missing child quickly.

The DPI has included private schools in the effort. Principals should contact their local school district to get free kits. The kits are expected to be available in the coming weeks for distribution before the school year ends.
