Here are five important takeaways from the recent CESA 6 EANS II webinar, according to WCRIS staff who participated. They watched the Feb. 3 webinar, and share this in case you couldn’t attend:

  • There will be a separate form for ARP-EANS (l) and CRRSA-EANS (ll) requests. The two programs are operating as separate pots of money.
  • Schools must submit one form for each category. So, if a school requests hand sanitizer and Chromebooks, they must fill out one form for the hand sanitizer and another form for Chromebooks.
  • A big revelation is a crackdown on requesting desks. Formerly, this was a great way for schools to use the funds. Schools requesting desks or other classroom-related materials must show it is for social distancing, not because your school’s enrollment is growing.
  • Schools must update their future reimbursement forms if there is a change in vendors or prices. They should do this before the purchase is made to ensure that the expense is still allowable. For example, you submit a future reimbursement for disposable lunch trays but because of the supply chain issue, the vendor is sold out and you find a new vendor. CESA needs to know and approve the new vendor before you are reimbursed. Failing to do this could result in not being reimbursed.
  • When filling out the forms, make sure that you are detailed in what your intended uses will be. But be concise. CESA 6 says it does not have the time to read a novel for each form you submit.
