Thanks to the advocacy of WCRIS, the DPI announced recently that EANS funds can cover labor to install windows or improve ventilation systems.

This provides much-needed flexibility to schools left frustrated on how to use the EANS funds to help their students be healthy in actual classrooms and school buildings.

Along with this exciting news, the DPI has also released this spreadsheet that covers what is allowable under EANS. WCRIS is advocating for many more innovative uses that are already being permitted in other states. The DPI says the chart is “a work in progress and will be regularly updated.”

Schools are invited to register to attend CESA 6 webinars on EANS funds. Upcoming webinars are scheduled for May 11 at 2:30 p.m. on obtaining direct services; and May 25 at 2 p.m. on the Reimbursement Process. The April 20 CESA 6 webinar is recorded here.
