The Wisconsin Department of Justice Office of School Safety has released its Comprehensive School Security Framework, which provides schools with a collection of safety best-practices. Private schools are not mandated or required to use the guide nor follow its advice. However, principal’s may want to review the guide and identify information that fits their school’s needs, culture and values.

The guide aims to help schools prevent, mitigate and respond to safety emergencies. Some of the key areas the guide covers are:

  • School Climate;
  • Student Engagement;
  • Policies and Procedures;
  • Violence Indicators;
  • Responses to threats and actual school violence.

Private school administrators may choose to use this guide to evaluate your school safety plan to ensure that you are creating the safest school possible. You can find the guide by clicking below.
