Application Process for a Fellowship or Scholarship

UPDATE NOVEMBER 21st: The Kohl Foundation website is fixed and allowing access to all applications.  We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.  Because access to applications was unavailable last week, the DUE DATE FOR ALL APPLICATIONS – Teacher Fellowship,  Principal Leadership and Student Excellence HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 1, 2017.

All teachers and principals who were nominated for a Kohl Teacher Fellowship or Principal Leadership Award should have received a link to complete the online application. The applications for the Student Excellence award are now available online.

The Teacher Fellowship applications are due December 1, 2017 to the teacher’s diocese or jurisdiction head office. Once you have completed your application you will receive an email confirmation with a copy of your application. Please print and mail or email forward your email confirmation with application attached to the appropriate person at your diocese or jurisdiction.

The Outstanding Wisconsin Leadership award applications are due December 1, 2017 to the principal’s diocese or jurisdiction head office. Once you have completed your application you will receive an email confirmation with a copy of your application. Please print and mail or email forward your email confirmation with application attached to the appropriate person at your diocese or jurisdiction.

The Student Excellence Scholarship applications are due December 1, 2017 to the student’s school’s diocese or jurisdiction head office. It is recommended that schools set a deadline for students to complete these applications ahead of the final deadline to make sure principals have time to electronically sign each application and mail or email forward their student application(s) to the appropriate person at your diocese or jurisdiction.

Please note, if your school’s policy includes confidential student recommendations or in general, you do not want students to read/review the required three letters of recommendation, you will need to have the students give you their username and password for the Excellence application and upload the recommendations after the student has completed his/her application.

If you are unsure of which diocese or jurisdiction your school belongs to you can view the WCRIS Schools Map here and find your school. Additionally, your school’s diocese or jurisdiction’s head office corresponds to a Board member on the WCRIS Board of Directors. Once you identify your diocese or jurisdiction, you can view which central office to send your completed applications to by going here on the WCRIS website.

You can find more information about the Kohl Awards, including the guidelines for each award and access to the online student applications on the Kohl website here.
