Advocacy by CAPE for WCRIS in Washington, DC

WCRIS schools represented at the Federal Level

WCRIS is the official state chapter of The Council for American Private Education (CAPE).

The May newsletter from the Council for American Private Education (CAPE) tackles issues nationally affecting K-12 private schools. Read the inside track on how your advocates are working for WCRIS schools in the nation’s Capital.

CAPE sent letters to Capitol Hill in mid-March laying out the principle that private schools should not be excluded from COVID-19 relief for K-12 schools, students and staff.

As part of their ongoing advocacy for our schools, CAPE is working on behalf of private K-12 schools with the US Department of Education and the US Department of Labor to ensure the administrative rules and the agencies’ practices conform to Congress’ intent to fully include private schools.
