Take Action for the Educational Choice for Children Act!

This federal private school funding bill is advancing through Congress,
and we need your help!

The Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA) would open educational options to two million students nationwide by creating a federal tax credit for donations made to Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs). Those donated funds would then be given as scholarships for families to use on the educational tools that best fit their child’s unique needs, including private school tuition, in all 50 states!

The bill is allowing for $10 billion in tax credits, with each state guaranteed a minimum of $20 million of that $10 billion, and gives a 100% tax credit (much better than a tax deduction) to any individual or business who donates to an SGO!

All our private schools could take advantage of the ECCA, if it’s passed! This bill is huge for all our private schools:

  • Our voucher-funded schools can use the ECCA bill in a stackable way, as schools can accept both voucher funding and ECCA-allowed donations.
  • Our independent and non-voucher-funded schools can benefit from ECCA while staying free from government funding and mandates.
  • Our voucher-funded schools who would like a back-up in case the voucher program would ever get defunded or increasingly mandated in the future (though WCRIS will always work and advocate on your behalf!) would especially benefit from ECCA.

The bill is moving through Congress. Now is the time to take action!

What Can Private Schools Do?

Right now, Congress is considering whether to include this monumental piece of legislation in the large budget reconciliation bill, which would increase the chance it will be signed into law. President Trump has already said he will sign it, but we need you to take action to make sure it gets to his desk!

WCRIS only asks for our schools’ help if the issue is important. Please go here for instructions on how to contact your Congressional representatives. It will take less than five minutes, and we’ve provided talking points to help you!
