WisconsinEye Fellowship

May 1, 2017

WisconsinEye is hosting their first-ever In the Classroom Fellowship program for educators who know or want to learn more about WisconsinEye programming, and who can create original content for WisconsinEye programming for use by their fellow teachers in our state’s classrooms.

“WisconsinEye is the technological gathering place where all can watch, listen, learn, and participate in our democratic society and our future: from home viewers who thirst to stay informed and in touch, to students and teachers in civics classrooms all across the state, to mobile viewers using the Internet to stay connected. The public policy discussions, the civic forums, the community events, the art we produce, the discoveries we make, the jobs we create, all that we contribute toward the common good in our communities and our state, WisconsinEye tells these stories of our public life, with an independent, nonpartisan perspective and without bias.” (<a href=”http://www.wiseye.org/About/Mission”>Taken from the WisconsinEye website</a>).

The focus of the program is to show the purpose of WisEye.org as an absorbing and important resource for Wisconsin’s teachers and students. It is also an opportunity for interested teachers to develop lesson plans used across the state in classrooms all year.

The Fellowship lasts one week this summer. Fellows visit WisconsinEye for an orientation day and then for the duration of the program work from home, collaborating with WisconsinEye curriculum staff, to create a lesson plan for Wisconsin classrooms. Each Fellow’s lesson plan is posted on the WiconsinEye website’s Classroom page.

Fellows receive $250 for one lesson plan.
