Below are upcoming training opportunities on school safety best practices; immunization reporting requirements; and the choice program audits that you may find valuable while preparing for next school year. Each training is free.

Learn how to effectively respond to a school safety incident at the Wisconsin Department of Justice Office of School Safety’s (OSS) Comprehensive School Safety course. According to the OSS, attendees will learn about the six actions performed during and after a school incident, Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, Shelter and Reunify.

The course is free and will be held in-person four times around the state. Click the links below for more information and to register:

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and the DPI school nurse are hosting a webinar about school immunization reporting requirements, including the latest updates for the 2024-25 school year, on Aug. 19 at 10 a.m.

WCRIS members are invited to a free webinar about the required internal control and fiscal practice portion of the choice audits on July 16 at 11 a.m.

The webinar will be presented by staff from Wegner CPAs, a DPI-certified auditing firm with which several WCRIS choice schools work. It’s designed for school administrators, business managers or any staff from schools that are already in or considering joining the Parental Choice Programs.
