WCRIS is happy to once again administer the Herb Kohl Education Foundation Teacher Fellowships, Student Scholarships, and Outstanding Wisconsin Leadership Awards on behalf of our members and the students they serve. These awards are a tremendous opportunity for your schools to recognize and honor the achievements of your teachers, students and principals. It is very important that we make these opportunities available to our teachers, students and principals.

Nominating a Teacher

The teacher nomination process is now open. Teachers must be nominated by a fellow teacher, parent, student, community member or school administrator. Pre-K through grade 12 classroom teachers who plan to continue in their current role at least for the following year are eligible for nomination. Once a teacher is nominated he/she will be sent an application.

14 teachers from religious and independent schools are selected out of 100 statewide, to receive a $3,000 grant. In addition, matching $3,000 grants will be awarded to the host school of each fellowship recipient.

Remember, teachers must be nominated before they can apply for this award. The nomination deadline is Friday, September 23, 2016 so time is crucial! A nomination form can be handed in directly to the school’s central office or completed online. After this deadline, school’s central offices will receive the online nominations from WCRIS.
