SUMMARY:MPCP & RPCP September open applications 9/1/17 -9/14/17
DESCRIPTION:The September open application period dates for schools participating in MPCP or RPCP are Friday\, September 1 through Thursday\, September 14. Because the September open application period ends the day before the 3rdFriday in September count date of Friday\, September 15\, the Online Parent Application will be closing at 4:00 PM on Thursday\, September 14 to provide schools additional time to verify applications\, complete a random draw\, if required\, and to notify parents of acceptance or non-acceptance at the school. \nA message on dpi.wi.gov/choice notifies parents the September open application period will close at 4:00 PM on Thursday\, September 14 and that parents must provide all supporting documentation to the school by 4:00 PM on Thursday\, September 14. \nPlease see the information below regarding student attendance and the 3rd Friday in September Count Report: \nStudent begins attending the school on or before September 14 :\nThe school may count the student on the 3rd Friday in September Count Report if the student is in attendance for instruction on Friday\, September 15.\nIf the student is absent on Friday\, September 15\, the school may count the student on the 3rd Friday in September Count Report if the student is in attendance for instruction at least one day before and after the count date. Please note that students do not have to be in attendance for instruction on the exact day before and after the count date. Some examples of being in attendance include September 14 and 18\, September 12 and 21\, September 5 and 26\, etc. Students must not have enrolled in another school or home-based private educational program during the period of absence from your school. \nStudent begins attending the school on September 15:  The school may count the student on the 3rd Friday of September Count Report if the student is in attendance for instruction on Friday\, September 15. \nStudent begins attending the school on or after September 16:  The school may not count the student on the 3rd Friday of September Count Report. \nChoice administrators must submit the 3rd Friday in September Count Report in the Online Application System (OAS) by Sunday\, October 1. DPI recommends schools complete the report by Friday\, September 29.
