What We Do

We defend the parents’ right to select the best education for their child and a school’s right to pursue the unique mission of its individual charter.   In addition, we promote the understanding of all educational issues, support student rights, and represent the special concerns of our teachers in areas of licensure and professional development.

Matt Kussow, Executive Director, is a registered lobbyist exclusively for WCRIS.   In addition to promoting issues such as school choice, tuition tax credits, and equitable bussing services, Matt defends our independence against burdensome regulations and new government mandates.

WCRIS advocates our participation in government programs and secure equitable access to available public resources when applicable.

WCRIS monitors the actions of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Board (WIAA).

WCRIS hosts a bi-annual leadership conference for members.

WCRIS is a charter member of the Coalition for the Advancement of Private Education (CAPE), our affiliate on federal government issues, and actively participates in advocacy efforts on a federal level.
